2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse
Now on its 3rd generation, the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse sports a normally aspirated
V6 engine that transports smooth, linear power, a new body style and, overall,
a more all-inclusive package that expands the appeal of the Mitsubishi Eclipse.
The great thing is, even with the re-design and re-engineering, it hasn't lost
its appeal and fun factor. The ride just got better as well as the handling, it's
less likely that you'll spill you morning coffee on your way to work.
For 2000, the Mitsubishi Eclipse is available in three trims, the RS, the GS
and the GT. RS and GS models arrive with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that
spews 154 horsepower and a vigorous 163 foot-pounds of torque at 4000 rpm. The
RS is the entry-level Eclipse, but it comes with a glut of features that makes
it attractive, 15-inch alloy wheels, power windows and locks, an interior air
filtration system and AM/FM/CD. Whereas the RS and GS are fine sport coupes, the
GT is a real stand out.
Its new V6 delivers 205 horsepower and 205 foot-pounds of torque, certainly more
than enough to provide the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT the performance it warrants.
It features aggressive 17-inch tires along with suspension and brake upgrades
to assist in keeping the increased power on the pavement. The road is where the
2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse is comfortable with; it's what it calls its home. Give
it a nice road to get crazy on and you\'ll see why its so popular. With a price
tag low enough to be called cheap for a sports car, the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse
will be here to stay.
